    Yoga Sites

    Yoga Alliance® - supports Yoga teachers and the diversity and integrity of Yoga. Their mission is to lead the Yoga community, set standards, foster integrity, provide resources, and uphold the teachings of Yoga. You can learn more about becoming a registered teacher or find a registered school at their site.

    Yoga Chicago - is a resource for Yoga happenings and interesting articles related to the Yoga community in Chicago, where our training director - Mira Binzen, E-RYT - lives.  She is a regular contributor to this publication and you can check out her many featured articles:

    Laughter Yoga - We incorporate laughter Yoga into many of our trainings and occasionally will faciliate a laughter club just for the fun of it!  You can learn all about Dr. Madan Kataria's global movement for health, joy & world peace at this web site. 

    Blissfolds - the mission of blissfolds is to empower children of all ages through Yoga to cherish their bodies, embrace their intuition, and actively take part in making a future for our planet - run by GFY graduate Shalise Nichols.

    YogAdenia - This is the home of Adenia Linker, children’s Yoga facilitator extraordinaire in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.  We refer to her when anyone asks us about aligning the benefits of Yoga to P.E. Standards in schools.  She has a very comprehensive page on this site dedicated to it.

    Chicago School of Thai Massage - Our occasional guest instructor Paul Weitz runs a comprehensive Thai massage therapy school in Chicago.

    Yoga Finder - Find a Yoga class or event around the world.

    Adventures of Yoga - has a couple of fun theme ideas, yoga games, and recommendations for books and music that can be used for children's yoga.

    The Yoga Guide - based in Sweden.  When they talk about Yoga for children movements for shoveling snow and making hot chocolate are featured.

    Everything Yoga - Mats, clothes and more.  Including support for building your own Yoga website.

    YouTube - has lots of yoga videos.  Some are quite good, others just plain funny.  This is one we clipped together from our 2008 Yoga Lab.

    Lisu Hill Tribe Homestay and Cultural Experience - Lovely people in Northern Thailand.  Their detox program is recommended by our Training Director.

    Kiddyhouse.com - is a terrific resource for teachers and parents looking for lesson plans, craft ideas, clip art, articles and more.

    Just For Fun

    Born Yogis - This book is a charming collection of black and white photos of babies doing yoga (something they naturally do) accompanied by a carefully chosen quote from both ancient and modern yogic texts. 

    CheckMates Chess Academy - provides chess education to students in grades K-6.  It's an unique approach to postively influencing young people by helping to forge friendships, increase reading and math abilities, sharpen decision making skills and improve concentration.

    Living Folklore - engages audiences of all ages, awakening the heart with humor and beauty to inspire a playful dialogue across cultures, and generations.  Their mission is to inspire a joyful dialogue while blending diverse cultural elements with story for an international audience of all ages.

    Jim Gill - is a child development specialist who has focused his energies on combining music and play. He speaks nationwide to early childhood educators and child care providers about play and its value in the lives of both children and the adults who care for them.
