Workshops and SpeakingWorkshopsJoin us for a day of laughter and learning! You will walk away with many tools and techniques to share with the children in your life as well as a deeper understanding of Yoga. Based on sound child development principals, the ancient science of Yoga is turned into fun, engaging, age appropriate stuff kids love. Introduction to Teaching Yoga to Children Previous Yoga experience is helpful but not required. The workshop includes both practice and discussion so dress comfortably and arrive ready to play! By the end of the day you will have complete lesson plans to use plus ideas for many more.
All made entertaining and appealing to kids – and tailored for specific age groups. Teaching Yoga to Younger Children – Ages 4-10 Similar format as the original Teaching Yoga to Children intro workshop but focusing specifically on the younger kids. At this age they want to jump right in and move! You’ll learn ways to facilitate through active engagement rather than demonstration along with useful skills such as creating a cooperative community in the classroom.Teaching Yoga to Tweens and Teens Similar format as the original Teaching Yoga to Children intro workshop but focusing specifically on the benefits of Yoga for older kids. Self-awareness and self-image are critical at this stage. We’ll give you tools to help this age group take control of their minds and bodies. Games, Games, Games Games are an essential part of any children’s Yoga program. They reinforce the concepts of Yoga in a fun and engaging way. Dogs, snakes and warriors become obstacles, pieces in a kaleidoscope and elements in tag. In this workshop you will learn quiet games, high-energy games, fast games, slow games, games for younger kids and games for older kids. You will learn how to incorporate games into Yoga classes or any environment you share with kids. All games become Yoga games when cooperative instead of competitive - and facilitate expanding awareness of self and others while improving coordination, flexibility and strength of both body and mind. Children quickly respond to this cooperative orientation and thrive. Learn how to turn traditional games into cooperative Yoga games and give the children in your life the gift of always being “in”! This workshop is also fantastic fun for any yogi who is interested in "playing" Yoga. Grace Under Pressure Kids today are experiencing pressure in many areas of their lives - from academics to sports to societal concerns and peer pressure. In this inspiring workshop you will learn Yoga practices specifically tailored to relieve these pressures in a fun and engaging way.
